In 1959 Sterling Pools opened its doors to service all aspects of the pool & spa industry in the Peterborough area. We have grown from fewer than 5 employees in one location and working out of a single service vehicle to more than 30 employees with 12 service vehicles working 6 days a week during peak season. To accommodate this growth Sterling Pools has changed locations 3 times, going from a trailer in the 50’s to 2 locations in Peterborough & 1 location in Cobourg.
Our main location is at 624 Queensway Court (Open all year) – this store has a full line of pool & spa chemicals/parts and accessories and with a 3,000 square foot showroom which enables us to have a variety of hot tubs in stock. This location is where our service and construction team work out of. In 2015 we expanded again and opened a store location in Cobourg at 991 Division Street (Open all year). Our growth has been steady over the years and to help our customers meet their expectations our 2 locations have been integrated so no matter what store they visit they can receive the best possible service.
Present owner’s Bob and Wayne pride themselves on keeping Sterling Pools a family run business. No job is too big or too small, they want to give their customers a feeling “that they are at home” with Sterling Pools. The fantastic service that we have given to our customers over the years has awarded us the Peterborough Examiner Reader Choice Award 16 times.
Over the years we have been fortunate enough to be chosen to do many large scale jobs. Recently we have built pools at Beaver Narrows Resort in Omemee, Pigeon Lake Trailer Park in Lakefield, Lake Edge Cottages in Lakefield, Birdsall Beach Resort in Hastings; we also built the pool for Adelaide Place in Lindsay. The City of Peterborough chose Sterling Pools to build the McKellar Street wading pool that is still being used today. Beyond new installations Sterling Pools is also recognized as a top renovation company for pools and spas. We have been called for renovations by companies such as Trent University and the old Peterborough YMCA. When the pool for the Town of Campbellford and the Centennial pool in Cobourg needed renovations they called Sterling Pools.
Even though we have listed many large scale jobs, our main clientele is the individual, each year Sterling Pools installs many inground pools for the general public. We pride ourselves on making the pool installation experience a pleasant one for all our customers.
